How to set an iPad or iPhone to kid mode

The good news, there is a way to lock an iPad or iPhone screen so a child can’t change what’s playing. You can use Guided Access to lock the iPad to a specific app and prevent the child from leaving the app or making any changes. It also lets you set time limits and reminders for when time is almost up.

To set up Guided Access, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access.
  2. Turn on Guided Access.
  3. Set a passcode for Guided Access.
  4. Open the app that you want to lock the iPad too.
  5. Triple-click the Home button.
  6. Enter your Guided Access passcode.
  7. Tap the green checkmark in the top left corner of the screen.
  8. To disable Guided Access, triple-click the Home button again and enter your passcode.

You can also use Guided Access to disable certain parts of the screen, such as the Home button or the volume buttons. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. While in Guided Access, tap the Settings button in the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the options that you want to disable.
  3. Tap the green checkmark in the top left corner of the screen.

Guided Access is a great way to keep your child entertained while preventing them from making unwanted changes to your iPad.
