Battle.net Redirects Back to Email Password Page? Here's the Fix

If you're trying to log into Battle.net and getting redirected back to the email password page before you can authenticate, it's probably due to the MetaMask Chrome extension. MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet that allows you to store and manage Ethereum-based tokens. However, it can also cause problems with other websites, including Battle.net.

This is because MetaMask has a setting that allows it to read site data. This is useful when using MetaMask to interact with websites that use Ethereum, but it can also be a security risk. If you're not using MetaMask to interact with a website, then there's no need for it to be able to read site data.

Solution:

To fix the problem with Battle.net, you need to change the MetaMask setting so that it can only read site data when you click the extension. Here's how to do it:

  1. Right-click on the MetaMask extension icon in your browser toolbar, or click on the Extensions icon and click the "more actions" three vertical dots next to MetaMask.
  2. Select "Settings."
  3. Hover your mouse over "This can read and change site data."

  4. Select "When you click the extension."

  5. Close and reopen your browser.
  6. Navigate to Battle.net and try to log in again.

If you still have problems, try disabling the MetaMask extension altogether. To do this, uncheck the "Enable MetaMask" box in the MetaMask settings.

Once you've fixed the problem, you can re-enable the MetaMask extension and use it again. Just be sure to only enable it when you're using it to interact with websites that use Ethereum.
